Things are just moving along nicely... :)

Hey there, everyone! I just wanted to give an update on how everything is going with Redefining Beautiful in Brownwood (and Early). We have been doing the no-makeup-on-Tuesdays thing even though we don't have shirts yet, and that's been going well! It seems like there are a lot of girls participating in it. I ordered the shirts on Tuesday, but I got even more money in yesterday. I'm going to have to add some people to our order, which isn't very complicated, but it's very exciting! The Redefining Beautiful movement spans Brownwood High School, Brownwood Middle School, Early High School, Early Middle School, and there are even a few Howard Payne students involved! So be excited. I believe that is all. Have a fabulous day! :D

It starts today

About a week ago I found this video on operationbeautiful.com. I've just been repeatingly watching it and asking myself some tough questions. In truth I couldn't come up with a good answer for why us girls and even the guys do this. In fact these statistics scare me quite a bit. Recently i've heard quite a few girls putting others down about the way they look. Whether it be classmates, teachers, celebrities. All of it is wrong. With all the freedom's that women have gained and all the opportunities we have we still feel the need to put others down to make ourselves feel better......and I want to know why that is? I mean it's a little ridiculous. Absolutely NO GIRL on Earth has the perfect everything whether it seems that way or not. There is always going to be something beautiful about you. Now I will be the first to admit that I struggle to believe this. BUT then I realized I don't need approval from a guy, girls at school, teachers, random people on the street even. Starting today i'm done with that because it's a waste of time. Everyone is not going to think you are perfect all the time. Sometimes people are going to be rude, but you know what? that's ok because YOU are perfect JUST the way you are.

Here's to the blind Girls

So i'm sitting here feeling sickly but I REALLY wanted to get a post up! haha my brain's a little confused this afternoon and I can't think of anything to say, but yesterday my cousin Morgan posted something on her blog that I thought would be perfect for this so i'm going to quote it down here :)

"To all the blind girls out there
I don't mean literally blind. I'm talking about the girls who don't see their true value. The ones that cling to a guy who treats her like pocket change. You keep it in your wallet for a while, but when it falls out of your wallet, you leave it on the ground because you don't want to pick it up. Or you don't want to carry it around anymore, so you trade it in for a dollar bill-- something "better".

So, to the blind girls,
You have worth. You are valuable. You don't know how beautiful you really are. God created everything, and He doesn't make mistakes. He only makes masterpieces. So. Start acting like God's princess. Because that is exactly what you are. He made you beautiful. Whoever doesn't realize that doesn't deserve you. Think about it, that would be the equivalent of someone finding the Mona Lisa lying around, unprotected, and using it as a coffee table, then by the time there are a dozen coffee rings on it, they just throw it out the window. So, protect yourself. Save your heart and yourself for someone who sees the beauty in you. Don't waste your time!

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10) -- some versions change "handiwork" for "workmanship" or "masterpiece". "

You know this goes for both girls and guys. I know people that just let a guy or girl treat them like dirt and they so do NOT deserve that. Anyway don't be blind to that. Remember that often your friends can see things that you can't because you are so blinded by this other person. Don't put yourself through something that you don't deserve because you deserve the world. and never settle for anything less than you deserve.

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversations be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." Colossians 4:2-6

Hello, darlings! I'm Leanna! First and foremost, I love God with everything I have. He is all-powerful, amazing, and mind-blowingly awesome, and somehow He still cares about me, a sinner! It's crazy-insane, and I love it. I try my best to live according to His plan and to glorify Him.  I'm in love with Ephesians 3:20- "Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or imagine." SO AWESOME. :D
Now for the less important stuff about me... I am a junior in high school. I LOVE to dance and sing (though not at the same time), and I'm on drill team and in choir. I have a secret dream of... being a YouTube singer and/or living in New York. I play guitar but not very well. I have OCD tendencies... Don't judge. I am, by no means, normal. Where's the fun in that? Raptoring (walking like a velociraptor) in public is the BEST! I go through phases where I'm obsessed with certain songs. (Right now, it's "Something Beautiful" by Needtobreathe. Love this song!!) I love: lace, pearls, Glee, acoustic music, Tyler Ward, flowers, algebra (yes, algebra. I'm a nerd!), reading, and most of all, my mommy (my best friend), my friends (I would NOT be the person I am without them!), and my daughter/dog (Roo!). http://leannaisnotyouraveragegirl.blogspot.com/ <3

I'm Madison :) There's not much I can say that the others haven't said already. God is great. 16 years old. I LOVE to color haha and bake things. I also crochet :) I have the best friends in the word! I'm a “fortune teller” haha I know that i'm just lucky to be alive and whenever I think i'm having a bad day I just remember that it could be SOOOOO much worse than it is :) I'm rarely ever upset at school and if I am you probably won't see it unless i'm at home. I don't want to leave that impression of myself to others. If you're reading this then know that you are BEAUTIFUL just the way you are :) I love quotes so you'll probably be seeing a lot of that from me :) My favorite thing in the world is to sing. I'm just trying to make a difference. You can call me Maddie, Madison, Madeline, or Granny (feel free to make a name up if you don't like any of those options) Well I hope I won't let you guys down! http://madisonmckillip.blogspot.com/

I’m Megan Leanne. 16 years young. I serve a perfect God, and without him I am nothing. “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us, as we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” -1 John 3:16 http://lovemeganleanne.blogspot.com/

Hello pretty people! :)
my name's Michelle Renae. :) i'm a senior. i'm going to Dallas Baptist University to major in Music Business:Worship Leadership. i'm QUITE excited about it. :) to be the Woman God has called me to be is the desire of my heart. i know that if my one and ultimate goal is to follow Him in everything then everything will perfectly fall into place. God has done SO much in my life. His mercy continues to amaze me. He still desires to have a relationship with me even though i treat Him like poop the majority of the time. He has given me a family that is so extremely close and i couldn't ask for more. He has allowed me to be surrounded by a WONDERFUL group of people. :) i'm so excited that God has given us this opportunity and DEFINITELY already used it for his glory. "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12 http://miss-michellerenae.blogspot.com/
